HANLEY Town won the top versus bottom game in the premier division with a comprehensive 6-0 win over Bewdley Town. Charlie Walford got a brace and Jayden Cotterill, Jake Avery, Theo Stair and Aaron Cooke the others, five of the goals coming in the second half. Lichfield City are second with two games in hand and beat Racing Club Warwick 4-1 with two more goals from Jack Edwards whilst the visitor's consolation came from Miracle Okafor. Whitchurch go into the FA Vase next week in good form and won 2-0 away at Highgate United with goals from Dylan Bath and Jud Ellis. Walsall Wood are another team still in the vase with a long trip to Norfolk next weekend and they warmed up with a 4-2 win at Haughmond, whose goals came from Louis Irvine and Sam Yeardley. Lye Town arrested their recent poor form, Adam Meacham's eighth goal of the season giving them a 1-0 win over AFC Wulfrunians who were under new manager Craig Gregg. Despite David Ablewhite of Stone Old Alleynians giving them an early lead at Romulus, they lost 5-1 as the home side turned it round through Kory Burke, Jordan Edwards, Call.um Rudd and two from Jack Whelan. The fixtures at Tividale, Uttoxeter Town and Worcester City were postponed. In division one, Atherstone Town went 16 points clear at the top after a 3-1 win over second placed Stapenhill. The goals came from Jo Obi, Mitch Piggon and Josh Beeson, Stapenhill replying through Connor Richins. Dudley Town went level on points after a 2-1 win over Nuneaton Griff, with Dan Danks and Dan Jone on target whilst Darlaston Town 1874 played in their first game since November and won 2-1 in a fixture dedicated to the late Leon Taylor.
