Former Walsall Wood goalkeeper James Wren has re-joined the club as a coach.
Wren stepped down from playing to concentrate on his business but will coach the club's goalkeepers, including first team stopper Callum Smith. The former Stourbridge and Hednesford keeper has also signed as a player and will provide cover for Smith. THE two remaining Midand Football League teams in the FA Cup went out in the second qualifying round on Saturday.
Atherstone Town lost 4-1 at Hanley Town, their consolation coming from Mitch Piggon. Lichfield City went down 4-0 at home to Boston United. Walsall Wood, Shifnal Town and Darlaston Town (1874) CIC are the three unbeaten teams in the Premier. Wood go back top after beating Uttoxeter Town 2-1 with goals from Kadem May and Jai Verma and Shifnal won 3-0 at Lye Town with goals from Tom Hill, Josh Green and Joe Thompson Darlaston beat Wolverhampto Casuals 1-0 at home courtesy of a Kieran Miller goal and are in fourth place with games in hand. Another team who won by a solitary goal was Racing Club Warwick who won at Highgate, Josh Parsons scoring on the half hour. Tividale beat Romulus 2-0 away with goals in either half from Curtis Cocking and Dan Smith AFC Wulfrunians have lost twice against Studley this season, going down 2-0 away on Saturday with both goals coming from Ashanti Pryce. In the first division a late Dan Danks goal gave Dudley Town a 1-0 win at Droitwich Spa. Town are top on goal dfifference from Bilston Town Community, even though the latter won 4-1 at home to Stapenhill.
