WALSALL Wood joined Whitchurch Alport in the fourth round of the FA Vase after overcoming visitors Anstey Nomads on penalties. The game finished 1-1 in 90 minutes, Kaden May putting Wood ahead ten minutes from time before the visitors equalised from the penalty spot late on/Wood won the subsequent shoot out 4-3 and now travel to Wroxham in the next round. Alport themselves won in the league 4-1 at Bewdley Town, Jud Ellis getting two goals. Worcester City beat Lichfield City 2-1 in front of 556 at Claines Lane with goals from Billy Shaw and James Douglas Leaders Hanley Town beat Racing Club Warwick 4-0 with goals from Louis Dodds, Danny Pugh, Chris Dagnall and Reece Jones. Romulus got a good 2-1 win over Shifnal Town to lift themselves into sixth place in the table. They are one place below Tividale who stayed in touch with the leaders after a 1-0 win over Stone Old Alleynians, Curtis Cocking on target for the second successive week. Nomads are currently third in the United Counties Premier Division North. The game should have been played last Saturday but was postponed. The winners will travel to Wroxham in the next round in January. Premier action sees a second versus fourth clash when Worcester City take on Lichfield City at Claines Lane. Leaders Hanley Town are at home to Racing Club Warwick but third placed Boldmere St Michaels don't have a game. Bewdley Town will attempt to get off the bottom when they entertain Whitchurch Alport at Ribbesford Meadows. In the first division, first placed Atherstone Town are at home to second placed Stapenhill. The visitors will be looking to close a ten point gap on Town.
