THERE are some important games in the Midland Football League on Tuesday night in both the premier and the first division.
In the premier, Lichfield City travel to Tividale and need to win to maintain any realistic chance of coming second at the end of the season. :Lye Town look to move up four places into fifth if they beat Whitchurch Alport and there are two cup games, Pershore Town v Worcester in the Worcestershire Senior Cup and Sporting Khalsa v Boldmere in the Walsall Senior Cup. In the first division, Ashby Ivanhoe coud go within one point of third placed Stapenhill if they beat Atherstone Town at home. All games kick off at 7.45pm THERE was free entry to the Payaro Stadium on Saturday for Hanley Town versus Highgate and they saw three goals in a 3-0 win for the home side through Reece Jones, Chris Dagnall and Louis Dodds.
Boldmere kept up the race for the title though with a 3-0 win in a local derby at Romulus, Harry Craven getting two and Lewis Archer the other. Lichfield City can still catch Boldmere and kept up the pressure on them with a 3-0 win over AFC Wulfrunians through two late goals from Luke Keen and an earlier effort from Dan Lomas. In division one, Ashby Ivanhoe booked their place in the end of season play offs with an impressive 1-0 win at Darlaston Town 1874.
