Capelli Sport MFL Division One round-up & Step 5/6 fixtures – Saturday, October 17

STRUGGLING Kirby Muxloe picked up just their second win in eight games to stun high-fliers Heather St John’s, running out 3-0 winners at Ratby Lane.

The visitors went into the game just one point behind leaders Gornal Athletic and it was goalless going into the second half. While Heather found the woodwork denying them the lead, their hosts had no such trouble, opening the scoring ten minutes after the break courtesy of Harrison Griffiths.

Good work from Aaron Kamara saw him tee-up Lucas Waring for the second on 81 minutes before Tom Carroll completed the scoring in added time, converting a Brandon Hands pass.

That result allowed Northfield Town to climb into second spot following their battling 1-0 defeat of Chelmsley Town, Harry Wilson with the game’s only goal.

Gornal Athletic made it five wins on the bounce with a 4-2 win at Lutterworth Athletic. Traevey Wright scored his 19th of the season with Brodie Summers, Dan Hadley and Taylor Homer also on the scoresheet. Alex Vineall and Brady Middleton scored for the home side.

Anstey Town were convincing 5-1 winners at Cradley Town where there was a brace for Archie Allen. Tom Barsby, Kai O’Keeffe and Szym Donnerstag made up the tally with Jahrome Faulder scoring for Cradley.

Sean Kavanagh netted twice for Coventry Copsewood in their 5-2 win at Saffron Dynamo. Will Boden, Keji Adenyi and Joe Miles bagged the others while Jayden Haines and Jordan Gray replied.

Hat-trick hero Zak Adams netted all the goals as Leicester St Andrews saw off Bustleholme 3-0 and second half efforts from Callum Riddell and Louie Robotham secured Stapenhill’s 2-0 win Ingles.

Birmingham OJM edged out FCV Grace Dieu 1-0 thanks to 35th minute Reece Morris effort and Archie Gallacher scored the only goal as AFC North Kilworth beat Birstall United by the same scoreline.

Basement boys Holwell Sports picked up a point with their 2-2 draw with GNG Oadby Town where Jake O’Reilly was among the goals for the hosts but fellow strugglers Boldmere Rangers lost 2-1 at home to Coalville Town, Farah Abdi and Madundo Semahimbo securing the points for the Ravens.
