STAPENHILL celebrated their first league win of the season with a thrilling 4-3 victory over fellow early season strugglers Holwell Sports at Maple Grove.
Goals inside the opening five minutes from Louie Robotham and David Rock handed the Swans the perfect start only for Solomon Agyeman to pull a goal back on 19 minutes.
A red card for Holwell’s Jimi Taylor and a third goal from Stapenhill’s Bello Osazuwa-Nsue looked to have put the result beyond doubt only for the visitors to rally in the second half and level through Jake O’Reilly and Jamie King.
But there was to be one final twist as Tobias Mott bagged the winner five minutes from time to hand the Swans the points.
It was the same scoreline at Bustleholme where Anstey Town were edged out despite opening up a 3-1 lead. A first minute goal from Bustleholme’s Anton Nesbeth was cancelled out by Conor Jackson three minutes later and Anstey then added further goals from Szym Donnerstag and Joe Harris.
Reece Lawton pulled one back before the break before the hosts pocketed the points thanks to a second half double from Thomas Graham-Davies.
At the other end of the table, an own goal and a Taylor Homer effort wrapped up Gornal Athletic’s 2-0 victory over visitors Coalville Town to keep their perfect record in tact at the top of the table.
Northfield Town remain the other club with a 100 per cent start following their 2-0 defeat of visitors Birstall United, Harry Wilson and Cian Lane with the goals in the second half.
Heather St John’s are up into second place thanks to their 1-0 defeat of Coventry Copsewood where Charles Treatise-Bruce was on the scoresheet while a goal nine minutes from time from Jayden Haines earned Saffron Dynamo a 1-1 draw at AFC North Kilworth who had taken the lead through Archie Gallagher early in the second period.
Goals from Charlie Lenton and Liam Canavan wrapped up a 2-1 win for Leicester St Andrews at Ingles, Ivan Tspian for the hosts, while a late double from Adam Parry coupled with an earlier effort from Dolton Taylor earned Kirby Muxloe a 3-2 win at Cradley Town for whom Cameron Milne and an own goal made up the scoresheet.
Eddy Rann, Mohammed Sulliman, Chris Uwabor and Reece Morris found the net in Birmingham OJM’s 4-0 win at GNG Oadby Town and there was also a goal glut at FCV Grace Dieu who ran out 5-0 winners at home to Boldmere Rangers – Kylano Isaac, Cornelious Olajide-Oriowo, Sean Tomlinson, Kosiaochukwu Ezeja and Ahmed Ahmed all on the sheet.
Finally, first half goals from Alex Webb, Taylor Blyth and Kieron Brehon helped steer Lutterworth Athletic to a 3-2 victory over visitors Chelmsley Town who hit back in the second half through James McGrane and Kyle Hayden.
